Reform Agenda For Congress
Corruption not only destroys public confidence in government, however. It costs taxpayer dollars that could be going to beneficial services. Instead, lobbyists are using gifts and junkets to divert funds toward pet projects and other misuses. The voters had a clear response to the scandals this past November:

Georgia PIRG Releases 21st Annual Toy Safety Report
According to the recent Georgia PIRG Trouble in Toyland report, hazardous children’s toys are still being sold in stores across the country. Based on data from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the report reveals that a staggering 73,000 children under the age of five were treated in emergency rooms for toy-related injuries in 2005. Twenty of these injuries were fatal.
